Do you also suffer from dry skin faster in the fall and winter? Today I show you how you can easily make a body scrub that removes dead skin cells and nourishes the skin. This scrub is vegan and contains only natural ingredients. Complicated or a lot of work? No, you make this scrub with ingredients from your kitchen cabinet within a few minutes!
Do It Yourself!
Making your own care products has a number of advantages. You can make the product completely to your liking by using ingredients that suit your skin. It is often much cheaper than products from the store. You know exactly what is in your care product, no strange ingredients of which you have no idea what it is and whether it is vegan.
The basis is very simple
Making your own scrub is fun and super easy! Basically you only need two ingredients: sugar or salt and oil. Everyone has this at home. Do you want a somewhat coarse scrub? Then use sugar. Prefer a nice scrub? Then you better use salt because the grains are smaller. With a salt scrub, make sure that this can sting wounds.
I chose a sugar scrub from two types of sugar with coffee and cinnamon. The fragrance goes well with the fall and coffee can help against cellulite. I used almond oil for this scrub but you can actually use any oil. Olive oil, for example, is very suitable for making scrub. Don’t like the smell of olive oil on your skin? Then use, for example, sunflower oil.
- 50 grams of granulated sugar
- 50 grams of brown caster sugar
- 50 grams of ground coffee
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 50 ml of oil
- A clean sealable jar to store your scrub.
Mix the dry ingredients well together. Then add the oil and mix again. Is the scrub too dry? Then add a little more oil. Is the scrub too wet? Then add some extra sugar until the texture is good. Spoon the scrub into a sealable jar and stick a nice label on it. Ready! Simple right?
Use the scrub in the shower and then rinse well. The oil in the scrub nourishes your skin and makes it soft. It is therefore not necessary to apply cream or lotion after a shower. Use the scrub once a week or whenever your skin needs some extra care. You can store the scrub in a tightly closed jar for a few weeks, make sure that no water or dirt gets into the jar.
It’s that easy to make a natural and vegan body scrub yourself!
